Supplier Of Belt Drive Parts & Belt Drive Components
When you need V-belts, synchronous belts, sheaves, bushings, and sprockets to keep your operation running optimally, D.P. Brown of PA will be your go-to supplier of these critical belt drive parts. As an authorized distributor for Jason Industrial, Timken, Dodge, B&B Manufacturing, and Masterdrive Power Transmission Products, you can have confidence knowing that we will be able to supply you with the belt drive products you need.
V-Belts
D.P. Brown of PA is an authorized distributor of Jason Industrial and Timken V-belts. Jason Industrial has been manufacturing high-quality power transmission belts since its founding in New Jersey in 1958. Since its merger with Megadyne in 2007, the rubber-wrapped belt line has expanded and has been rebranded as the Megadyne line of power transmission belts. These belts are suitable for both light- and heavy-duty systems, perform well in harsh environmental conditions, and are available in banded sizes to eliminate the need for individual V-belts working in a set.
Timken Belts — manufactured in the USA — have been providing raw-edged, cogged V-belts to the industrial and commercial markets since the 1920s. Timken’s belts are engineered and built to tight tolerances to ensure reliability and optimum performance.
- The Gold Ribbon Cog Belt — A heavy-duty V-belt designed for its high energy efficiency and long belt life
- The Power-Wedge Cog Belt — A durable, heavy-duty V-belt developed with high horsepower ratings that reduce drive cost, space, and weight
Sheaves
D.P. Brown of PA is also an authorized distributor of Dodge and B&B Manufacturing’s line of industrial pulleys. Dodge V-drive sheaves are manufactured in the USA to ISO quality standards with machining and meet or exceed industry standards for smooth operation and extended belt life. This design provides low economic costs per horsepower transmitted due to shock load and vibration isolation, creating clean and quiet operation.
B&B Manufacturing, based in LaPorte, IN, produces V-belt pulleys to prevent slippage and misalignment and to provide maximum friction and torque in drive systems. The company manufactures their V-belt sheaves from a variety of materials — ranging from steel to nylon — and they are available with either single or double grooves.
Bushings
We also supply clients with Dodge and B&B Manufacturing’s lines of bushings. Dodge bushings, made in the USA, have unique features and a high endurance design that extends the conveyor pulley life. Dodge also manufactures XT bushings, which are interchangeable with bushings found on competitive conveyor pulley products.
Like Dodge Industrial, B&B Manufacturing’s line of bushings includes quick disconnect (QD), taper-lock (TL), and split taper bushings in a variety of common and hard-to-find sizes.
Synchronous Belts
Synchronous (timing) belts are flexible, toothed belts that transmit power via engagement between the belt teeth and a matched toothed sprocket. A synchronous belt requires no re-tensioning, improves energy efficiency, and reduces downtime. Compared to chains, timing belts are more compact, lighter, quieter, require no lubrication, and operate at higher speeds.
D.P. Brown of PA is an authorized distributor of Timken and Masterdrive synchronous belts.
Synchronous Sprockets
Companions to synchronous belts, synchronous sprockets are toothed components that improve drives with a curvilinear timing belt. A reinforced belt wraps around and engages a motor-driven sprocket or pulley to transmit translational or rotational motion.
D.P. Brown of PA is an authorized distributor of Dodge and B7B Manufacturing synchronous belts.
HOW TO DETERMINE WHICH BELT DRIVE COMPONENTS ARE BEST FOR YOUR APPLICATION
Determining the most suitable type of belt drive parts for a specific industrial application is an important yet complicated decision. To make an informed choice, there are several important factors you should consider in selecting the optimal belt drive products.
For example, the type of application you have in mind plays a pivotal role — heavy-duty applications like belt conveyors, multiple belts, or industrial belts with high tensile strength are often preferred to ensure efficient power transmission and longevity. You'll also want to consider the nature of the load and the required belt tension. Applications with varying loads may benefit from flat belts, as they offer excellent flexibility and minimal belt slip.
The choice of belt surface also matters greatly, as it affects friction and traction — for instance, a ribbed belt surface may be more suitable for applications requiring enhanced grip. Additionally, assessing the environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity, is vital to selecting a belt drive that can withstand your intended operational environment. By carefully evaluating these factors, you can determine which kind of belt drive components are best suited for your unique applications and ensure optimal performance and longevity.
